Personal Counseling

Personal counseling is provided to currently enrolled Wilkes Community College students on a short-term basis. Counseling Services offers free mental health and substance use screenings, as well as short-term counseling that focuses on coping strategies, conflict resolution, and crisis management. Counselors also assist with Title IX, Care Team, and behavioral consultations. Referrals to community agencies or resources can be made if it is apparent that individuals need a different level of care.

The counseling staff adheres to the Ethical Standards of the American Counseling Association and the National Association of Social Workers. All counseling is confidential except for situations involving imminent danger to self or others, or when legal requirements demand that confidential information be revealed.
